BTS was nominated for 'Artist Of The Year' at the '2021 American Music Awards (AMA)', one of the three major music awards in the United States.

In the announcement posted on the AMA's website on the 28th (local time), BTS was nominated for Artist of the Year along with Ariana Grande, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift.

This is the first time BTS has been nominated for Artist of the Year, and it is the first time that an Asian singer has been nominated.

BTS was also nominated for Favorite Duo or Group.BTS' hit song 'Butter' this year was nominated for Favorite Pop Song.

Last year, BTS won three awards in the Pop/Rock genre, Favorite Duo/Group, and Favorite Social Artist categories. In 2018, he won the Favorite Social Artist, and in 2019 he won the Favorite Social Artist, Pop/Rock Genre Favorite Duo/Group, and Tour of the Year.
